CK BARLOW
CK Barlow is a composer, sound designer and performer residing in Albuquerque, NM. She is a member of the acclaimed experimental ensembles Out of Context (conducted by J.A. Deane) and mJane (led by Molly Sturges). CK also performs frequently as a soloist, constructing electronic pieces based on found sounds such as machinery, natural materials, tools and manipulations of various everyday objects. CK frequently composes for Albuquerque's top-rated theater company, Tricklock, and has composed and designed sound for Santa Fe's leading theater company, Theater Grottesco. She has also worked extensively with choreographers and video artists. She has scored four local independent films and provided live accompaniment to silent films. CK graduated summa cum laude with a Masters degree in music composition and theory in April 2002 from the University of New Mexico and her writing has been published in MIT's Computer Music Journal and she has been interviewed about her work for MIT's Leonardo Music Journal. Residencies include STEIM Labs in the Netherlands and at the Ugandan International Festival of Music, Drama and Dance.
