LEONARD FELBERG, Professor Emeritus of violin at the University of New Mexico, has had a distinguished and varied career in Europe, Latin America, Mexico and the United States. After receiving the Bachelor and Masters degrees from Yale University, where he was awarded the Horatio Parker Fellowship, he joined the Seventh Army Symphony, where he was featured soloist on tours of France, Germany and Luxembourg. After leaving the service, Professor Felberg joined the Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam for three years. - continued


JACQUELINE ZANDER-WALL - Over fifty recital credits include the Stuttgart Hugo Wolf Gesellschaft, the Hamburg Mahler Verein, the Villa Lobos Ensemble, the Goethe Institute in Moscow and Boston, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. She has performed Chamber Music with the New York Skaneateles Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Warebrook Contemporty Music Festival in Vermont and throughout Germany. continued


Conductor and violinist GUILLERMO FIGUEROA is one of the most renowned and versatile musicians of his generation. A member of Puerto Rico's most distinguished musical family, he was named Music Director of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra in 2000, after serving as that orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor for several seasons. In 2001 he was also named the tenth Music Director of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, becoming the first Puerto Rican-born conductor to lead an important orchestra in the United States. Born in Wroclaw, Poland, KRZYSZTOF ZIMOWSKI, (violin) began his musical studies at the age of six. As a member of the International Organization of Jeunesses Musicales, he participated in various music camps and schools. Zimowski performed as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of Weikersheim and Bayreuth in Germany, with Franz Paul Decker, the music director of the Montreal Symphony. In 1975 he performed with the Orchestre Mondial Des Jeunesses Musicales (The World Youth Orchestra) in Brussels and Paris, under the direction of Jean Martinon, and the chamber music ensembles with Henryk Szeryng. continued


ARLETTE FELBERG, pianist, is Founder and Artistic Director of Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, now beginning its seventeenth season of concerts. Formerly on the faculties of the University of Toledo and the University of New Mexico, where she served as Director of Keyboard Studies for four years. Ms. Felberg attended the Manhattan School of Music, received degrees from the University of Michigan and University of Miami, and completed four years of Doctoral Studies - continued


DAVID FELBERG, violin, is currently Associate Concertmaster of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. A native of Albuquerque, he performs regularly throughout the Southwest as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. He has appeared as a soloist with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Albuquerque Philharmonic, Noisy Neighbors Chamber Orchestra, Tucson Symphony, and the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra. David has performed solo recitals in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Clovis, Portales, and most recently on the Outstanding Artists Recital Series. - continued


CK BARLOW is a composer, sound designer and performer residing in Albuquerque, NM. She is a member of the acclaimed experimental ensembles Out of Context (conducted by J.A. Deane) and mJane (led by Molly Sturges). CK also performs frequently as a soloist, constructing electronic pieces based on found sounds such as machinery, natural materials, tools and manipulations of various everyday objects. CK frequently composes for Albuquerque's top-rated theater company, Tricklock, continued


JEREMY MAYNE has been performing as a professional guitarist since 1987. He has performed throughout much of North America, including Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., as well as Mexico and Canada. As active ensemble player, he has been a featured soloist with the UNM Orchestra and the UNM Faculty String Quartet. He performed for three years with the IU Latin American Ensemble. continued


Violinist VALERIE TURNER, a native New Yorker, received her musical education at the State University of New York at Purchase. She has had an extensive career performing with orchestras and chamber ensembles such as the American Symphony, the Manhattan Philharmonic, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Bronx Arts Ensemble, the New York Chamber Players, the New Jersey Symphony, the New York City Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera Association, continued


JAMES FELBERG, cello, received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of New Mexico, and spent six years as a physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. In addition, he has served as Medical Director of CLC-Pecos Valley Care Center, Medical Director of De Baca Family Practice Center and Medical Director of De Baca County Emergency Medical Services in Ft. PAMELA VIKTORIA PYLE, pianist, has been recognized for her interpretations of the chamber music literature since Dorothy DeLay first engaged her at The Juilliard School. For more than a decade, she served as a principal pianist in the studios of Miss DeLay and then Itzhak Perlman. This immersion in the piano and string repertoires led to collaborations with members of the Juilliard, American, Ying and Mendelssohn String Quartets, including Joel Smirnoff, Joel Krosnick and Daniel Avshalomov, as well as other soloists such as Robert McDuffie, Brian Lewis, Sarah Chang, Alan Harris and the Norwegian soprano Anne-Lise Berntsen. continued


FELIX WURMAN, cellist, was born in Chicago in 1958. He was given a cello at age seven and by age twelve was performing publicly. His Orchestra Hall debut with Chicago Symphony Orchestra was a noted success. Decling invitations from the Curtis and Julliard Schools of Music, Mr. Wurman was given the unique opportunity of private studies with Jacqueline duPre. LORI LOVATO, is clarinetist for the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony, Santa Fe Concert Association Orchestra, "Three-Two Jazz," and founding member of the New Mexico Woodwind Quintet. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and earned her Master of Music degree from the University of New Mexico. MEGAN JULYAN-HOLLAND has held the position of Principal Second Violin in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and member of the CSO String Quartet since 2001. In addition to her duties as Principal Second Violin, she also performed as soloist with the CSO on several occasions. In 2004, award-winning composer Fernando Rivas of Sesame Street fame composed a duo for her and her husband James which was premiered on the Charleston Symphony Orchestra's Chamber Music Series. She has given critically acclaimed solo and chamber music performances in the Piccolo Spoleto Chamber Music Spotlight Series. continued


JAMES HOLLAND began his cello studies at the age of nine in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in cello performance from the University of Alabama, where he studied with Carlton McCreery, and a Master of Music degree in the same discipline from the Eastman School of Music, where he served as a teaching assistant to Pamela Frame. His summer studies at the Brevard Music Center, the ENCORE School for Strings, the Quartet Program, and the Kent/Blossom Music Festival gave him the opportunity to learn from such cellists as Orlando Cole, Eleonore Schoenfeld, continued


VALERIE POTTER holds the position of principal flutist of the New Mexico Symphony since 1993 and has held the piccolo position with the Santa Fe Opera since 1994. She received her Bachelor of Music from Indiana University with a performer’s certificate and a Master of Music from Yale University. She has performed with numerous orchestras across the country including the Cincinnati Symphony continued


PETER ULFFERS, a native of Alton, Illinois, received his Bachelor of Music performance degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he studied with Roger Kaza and Roland Pandolfi, and his Master of Music performance degree from Northwestern University, where he studied with Dale Clevenger. While in the Chicago area he performed with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the South Bend, Northwest Indiana, and Illinois symphonies, and the Chicago Symphony. continued


PHILLIP COONCE (B Mus., University of New Mexico, M. Mus., SUNY at Stony Brook, and DMA, Manhattan school of Music) has studied with Leonard Felberg, Hiroko Yajima, Felix Galimir, Blanche Moyse and Raphael Bronstein. He has performed with the New Jersey Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, continued


Violist KIMBERLY FREDENBURGH enjoys an unusual career as both Assistant Principal Viola of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and professor of viola at the University of New Mexico. She has served as Associate Principal Viola of the Phoenix Symphony for the past five years, and also served on the faculty at Arizona State University. She spent two years as co-principal viola of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL. (Michael Tilson Thomas, music director) and performs regularly with the world-renowned Santa Fe Opera Orchestra.continued


Cellist DANA WINOGRAD received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in performance from the Julliard School in New York where she studied with Harvey Shapiro and Channing Robbins, as well as members of the Julliard String Quartet for chamber music. STEFANIE PRZBYLSKA has been principal bassoon with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra since the 1998 and has appeared as a featured soloist on the orchestra's Mozart Festival. She also plays principal bassoon with the Santa Fe Symphony and has performed locally on the Placitas Artists Series, with the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and the Santa Fe Opera. Recently she helped start the Bosque Bassoon Band, a group which performs chamber music for multiple bassoons continued


A native of Massachusetts, CHRISTINE SAARI hold the positions of Principal Flutist with the Santa Fe Symphony and Assistant Principal flutist with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. She also performs both on stage and in the pit orchestra each summer with the Santa Fe Opera. She previously held the position of Principal Flute with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. continue


MARCIO FERREIRA RODRIGUES is a native of Brazil, where he studied at the Parana State Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Winning numerous competitions and prizes in his native country, he became a member of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Sao Paulo, Brazil. continued
