STEFANIE PRZBYLSKA
STEFANIE PRZBYLSKA has been principal bassoon with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra since the 1998 and has appeared as a featured soloist on the orchestra's Mozart Festival. She also plays principal bassoon with the Santa Fe Symphony and has performed locally on the Placitas Artists Series, with the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and the Santa Fe Opera. Recently she helped start the Bosque Bassoon Band, a group which performs chamber music for multiple bassoons in informal and educational settings. As a soloist she has recently appeared with the San Juan Symphony and the Albuquerque Concert Band. A native New Yorker, Przybylska graduated from the Juilliard School and was selected to participate at the Marlboro Music Festival where she performed chamber music with members of the Juilliard, Guarneri and Emerson string quartets, as well as with Rudolf Serkin, Peter Serkin and Harold Wright. She can be heard on Marlboro Festival recordings on the Sony label. Before moving to New Mexico, Przybylska performed frequently with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra both, locally and abroad, and was involved in several recording projects with that group. In addition she taught at the Interlochen Arts Academy where she helped prepare her students for further study at schools such as the Curtis Institute, the Eastman School of Music and the Oberlin Conservatory.
