ANDREA KIESLING

Andrea Kiesling, mezzo-soprano, is noted for her dramatic flair and velvety tones. On stage, Andrea has performed such diverse roles as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte), and Lolette (La Rondine). Equally comfortable on stage with oratorio and chamber works, Andrea has also performed Medelssohn’s Elijah and Mozart's Requiem and performed with De Profundis, as alto soloist for Ms. Alice Parker’s Adios, Catedral de Burgos in Albuquerque.

Ms. Kiesling is a past recipient of the National Opera Association’s Todd Duncan Legacy Award, the National Association of Teachers of Singing First Place and Encouragement Award, and recently competed in the 2008 Dutch International Vocal Competition. She is an alumnus of the Sarasota Opera 2008 Apprentice Program under the batons of Maestri Victor De Renzi and Roger Bingaman. Most recently, she performed the role of Seña Rita in Teatro Nuevo Mexico’s production of La Verbena de la Paloma under the baton of Maestro Pablo Zinger and was an Artist in Residence for Amarillo Opera. Andrea studies with Ms. Marilyn Tyler, Director of Opera Studies at the University of New Mexico.
