CHEROKEE RANDOLPH
Violist Cherokee Randolph played in the Mexico City Philharmonic for 16 years before coming home to Albuquerque four years ago. Since returning she has been an active free lancer, playing with a wide variety of musical groups, including the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony, Chatter !, Santa Fe Pro Musica, New Music New Mexico, Baroque Chamber Players, Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, and the Santa Fe Opera. In February of 2008 Cherokee played viola with the solo quartet in Ralph Vaughn Williams’ « Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis » with the Albuquerque Youth Symphony at the National Convention of the American String Teachers’ Association. In addition to her active performing career, Cherokee teaches orchestra at Cibola High School, and has a busy private studio.
